[International · Road] Berlin Marathon 2026: Adola wins, Assefa takes a third title with a course record — At the 27 September race, Ethiopia's Guye Adola won the men's race in 2:02:50 (his second Berlin title after 2021), while Tigst Assefa won her third Berlin crown in 2:11:04, breaking her own 2023 course record and running the third-fastest women's marathon ever. [International · Road] Sydney Marathon 2027 ballot opens 29 September — free to enter, closes 19 October — For the 29 August 2027 edition (Australia's only Abbott World Marathon Major), the general ballot runs 29 September 10:00 AEST to 19 October 10:00 AEDT. Entry is free, selection is by random draw (not first-come), the full entry fee is charged automatically if you are drawn, and results are emailed around late October; unsuccessful applicants can use charity or official travel-partner routes. [International · Trail] Hiroshima's inaugural UTMB World Series race fills all three categories in 10 days — Hiroshima Ultra-Trail by UTMB (9–11 April 2027) opened entries on 18/20 August and sold out all 1,000 places in each of the 100K, 50K and 25K races (3,000 in total) within ten days. The official race list now shows "Full" and offers a waitlist form, with candidates notified in order.
