[International / Road] Sydney Marathon 2027 ballot confirmed: opens 29 September — The ballot runs from 10:00 AEST on 29 September to 10:00 AEDT on 19 October, free to enter and not first come, first served; results and automatic card charges land on 3 November, when unsuccessful applicants also receive charity and official travel-programme options. Race day is 29 August 2027 (Sydney Marathon).
[International / Road] Boston Marathon 2027 qualifier registration closed on 18 September — Applications ran 14–18 September (17:00 ET) and the B.A.A. ranks runners by how far they beat their qualifying standard. For the first time around 1,000 places will be allocated by a random draw, the Boston Qualifier Selection. Race day is 19 April 2027 (B.A.A. / Marathon Handbook).
[Hong Kong / Road] Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2027 public ballot closes 20 September, 19:00 HKT — Priority (qualifying-time) entry ended on 7 September and the public ballot opened at 14:00 on 11 September. The main race field grows to a record 78,000 (half marathon up 4,000 to 29,000) and a new 5 km Harbourfront Run with 3,000 places is added on 16 January 2027. First-round ballot results are published at 14:00 on 25 September (HK Marathon / Sing Tao).
[International / Trail] HOKA Val d'Aran by UTMB 2027 introduces a lottery — TDL 75K, PDA 55K and EXP 30K move to free pre-registration plus a draw: pre-registration 23 September 11:00 to 29 September 11:00 CET, results 1 October, selected runners confirm by 5 October and unclaimed places are reallocated 5–6 October. VDA 163K, CDH 110K, SKY and the shorter races stay on direct registration, with UTMB Index priority on 7 October and general opening on 9 October (Val d'Aran registration process).
